New for 2026, Utah’s first ever team randonneuring event!
9/19/2026 9:00 AM start The RUSA Dart Populaire is an 8-hour team event with a minimum distance of 120km (75 miles). A team consists of 3-5 riders and each team must ride together and stay together during the event. Each team designs their own route, so please volunteer to captain a team if you like route planning, or have some great ideas for a route. Each team should have a unique name, and many teams will want to pick a route theme or rider theme (fixie, tandem, women’s team, etc). Some suggested route themes: tacos, donuts, soda shops, hot dogs, post offices, ice cream, gravel, linking together mountain bike trails, lots of climbing, very flat, bike paths, historical sites, bison statues, longest distance, etc. All team randonnées require that a minimum of 25 kilometers (16 mi) be ridden in the final 2 hours of the event. It is considered bad form to finish early, so plan some optional stops near the end and consider it Adrian Hands training.
The ending location for the Dart will be Woodbine Food Hall in downtown Salt Lake City at 545 West 700 South. Woodbine is a food court with many food options, air conditioning, and plenty of bike parking (bring a good bike lock) and indoor seating; and it is close to Frontrunner and Trax for teams that want to take the train home. Each team route must end at Woodbine. Please contact Ken if you’d like to captain a team.
